Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek is a trip to the hidden valley of Nepal. The less explored trekking route of Nepal is truly remote trekking in Nepal. In the restricted trekking area of Nepal, this route is popular to its typical living style and culture. Hugely influenced by Tibet Buddhism, the route consists of many monasteries, chortens, and gumbas. Among many monasteries- “The Rachen Monastery” is the main highlight. The word “Tsum” is taken from the Tibetan word “Tsombo” which means vivid.
The friendly locals of Manaslu with their typical Tibetan look-like living style and attire are among the favorites. The exciting high Himalayan pass of Larkya Pass (5167 meters), and the magnificent mountain views of – Manaslu, Cheo Himal, Himlung Himal, Nemjung, Gyaji Kang, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II are always the best. The occasional encounters of wildlife including Mountain Goat, Blue Sheep, and Pika Himalayan Marmots is refreshing. The luckiest ones can also get the chance to see the shy snow leopard as well. The vibrant local villages, the peaceful valleys, the glaciers, and the rivers make this trekking absolutely stunning.
Like other trekking in Nepal, Manaslu and Tsum valley trek is also a teahouse trekking. There are teahouses with needed facilities are available. The restricted area trekking in Nepal. Manaslu and Tsum valley trek as special rules. There must be two trekkers to trek Manaslu and must have to go through a government-registered trekking company with a professional trekking guide. The best time to trek to Manaslu is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November).

Manaslu trek

Rabin was amazing! I cannot overstate how great of an experience we had with Rabin as our guide on the Manaslu trek. He is professional while at the same time flexible and relaxed. A perfect balance that only comes with years of experience. Rabin let us customize our itinerary and change things on the fly as we hiked. When we had questions, he had answers but otherwise Rabin let us hike the hike we wanted. As it was early spring on the Manaslu trek, snow levels were high and many groups were turning around before the pass. Rabin stayed optimistic and confident and got us over the pass!! This made our trek. On a personal note, Rabin is intelligent and well read with excellent English. He was a pleasure to converse with about all topics from politics to economics to game of thrones. You can hire a random guide when you arrive in Kathmandu, but from our experience the range in quality can be huge. With Glacier Nepal Treks the gauranteed quality and experience you will get is worth every cent you may have otherwise saved. Don't take the risk and hire an experienced guide!!
