Introduction

Situated just east of one of the most popular treks of Nepal, the Annapurna Base Camp trek, the Mardi Himal trek is a hidden gem. Few trekkers only make their way to the Mardi Himal Base Camp spectacularly situated at the base of Mardi Himal and the impressive Machapuchhre.

The trail goes along small winding paths, through magical rhododendron forests until you climb out of the forest Camp at an elevation around 2480 m. The landscape changes quite abruptly into a rugged high mountain landscape, with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machapuchre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

From High Camp 3580 m you can climb up to Mardi Himal Base Camp 4500 in about 5-6 hours, which offers spectacular close up views of the entire Annapurna Range. There are simple guesthouses and home stays along the entire route. If you plan to does this trek in the winter months we have to check if the lodges are open or close.

Short Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel and overnight stay at Kathmnadu.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus
Enjoy a scenic drive in a tourist bus for about 6 to 7 hours and stay overnight at Pokhara.

Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Pritam Deurali (2150m) 3hrs.
After breakfast drive for one hour to reach Kande. Then trek to the Deurali first we climb up to Australian camp and pass of Pothana village. You make a gradual ascent to your destination in about 3 hours. Stay overnight nice and clean guest house at Deurali.

Day 04: Pothana Deurali to Forest Camp (2480 m) 4- 5 hrs.

Walking through rhododendron forests, reach the forest camp in about 5 hours. stay overnight nice and clean guest house we can nice view of Ghandruk Village from this place.

Day 05: Forest Camp , Low Camp to Badal Danda (3200)m 3 hrs.
You will experience the thrill of walking in the total wilderness of thick forests covered with rhododendron and oaks trees. Mostly the trees are covered with mosses and lichen. Occasionally the thick foliage opens into small windows, from which you will stare at the stunning sceneries of in the direction of Fishtail ( Machapuchre) . On the right side far below lies the Modi Khola Valley. Then you will be Low camp of the northern face of Mt Fishtail and trek one hour more you will reach at Badal danda there is newly open nice and clean guest house.

Day 06: Badal Danda to High Camp (3540m) 2hrs.
Pass through rhododendron forest and alpine pasture land to reach the High Camp. In clear weather, you will definitely enjoy the Himalayan panorama views like Annapurna south, Himchuli,fishtail. Stay overnight nice and clean guest house

Day 07: Exploration/Sightseeing Day

If we walk from high to View point 4250 m about 3 hours from there we can see the good views of Annapuna south,Himchuli,Fishtail Mardi Himal and Annapurna base camp area and to continue to Mardi Himal Base camp 4500m about 4 to 5 hrs and back to high camp.

Day 08: High Camp to Siding (1280m) 4-5 hrs.
The return route is different. From Low Camp. You will have to long descend through thick forest and then see the terraced farmland as you return to the Upper Mardi Khola region and to reach Siding.You will see the original rural Nepal with its life at ease and proximity of Mother Nature. Stay overnight nice and clean guest house

Day 09: Siding to Pokhara
Treat yourself to magnificent sceneries of the Himalayan region from this place and return to Pokhara by local jeep then stay overnight at pokhara 3 hrs.

Day 10: Pokhara to Kathmandu
After breakfast we leave for Kathmandu by tourist bus it takes about 6 to 7 hours and overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 11: Final departure so we will drive to airport and back to home.

Cost Includes
